Open Artist Studio: Flower Power
- April 25, 2024
- 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Space: Oyster Classroom
Natural elements such as flowers have influenced society and culture in design and art for centuries. Flowers’ vivid and expressive visuals as well as their representations of love, friendship and nature have provided diverse inspirations. Some artists, such as Vicki Rawlins, for example, use flowers and other natural elements to make their art. On the other hand, artist Leonce Raphael Agbodjelou uses photography and flowers as props to depict the challenges of his home country, Benin, and illustrate the tension between traditional and modern society. Students will engage with their own understanding and interpretation of flowers to create their own floral representations.
